Spring/Summer 2011 Celebrity Trend: Sparkle Jumpsuits

Iman+2011+MET+Costume+Institute

Jumpsuits were a major player in the Spring/Summer 2011 trend forecast as they started popping up all over the runways with designers such as Marc by Marc Jacobs, YSL, Paul and Joe, Temperley London, Diane Von Furstenburg following suit. If you’ve watched any red carpet this season, you’ve probably noticed that celebrities have gotten on the jumpsuit train at an amazingly quick rate.

Several celebs have, of course, taken the trend to the next level by choosing jumpsuits with glitter, sheen, sequins.. basically everything shiny.

Gwen Stefani looked incredible at the Cannes Festival in this Stella McCartney sequined jumpsuit with a plunging V.

Same jumpsuit, different color. Iman looks like a golden goddess in the same Stella McCartney jumpsuit at the 2011 Met Ball.

“The Most Beautiful Woman in the World” (yes, I am going to call her this all year) loves a good jumpsuit and has worn them on many different occasions. She wore this gold Zuhair Murid jumpsuit at the pre-party release of her album Love. The glittery nude, Michael Kors jumpsuit was worn to the American Idol Finale.

American Idol contestant Pia Toscano also wore this black and silver tiger print jumpsuit to the pre-party of “The Most Beautiful Woman in the World’s” album release.

I love this gold satin Gucci jumpsuit on Ellen Pompeo. She looks so chic.

Mary J Blige wore a sequined, nude Michael Kors jumpsuit to the 30th anniversary party for the designer himself.

Not really sure what to think of this Pamela Rolland jumpsuit that Marcia Cross wore to the CFDA awards. Would I like it better on someone else? Would I like it in a different context.. like the year 1970? I just don’t know.

What do you think of the sparkle jumpsuit trend?? Would you wear one?
