Let’s start stepping behind the camera, shall we? After all, in most cases models are as strong as the hand that shoots them, right?

In any case, we all have go-to photogs that we know will deliver that amazing frame, the new-comers that blow you away with their hidden talent and the photogs that we all cross our fingers to work with one time in our career. ModelDash is searching for all these amazing photographers and bringing you into a little bit of their world.

We are going to go down to the 305, yes Miami, where you are sure to find some of finest in the industry.  Meet Michael Y. Guirguis the 33 year old Egyptian-born photographer that is capturing the best of what Miami has to offer. Although he has only been shooting for 2 years it is clear he is no amateur, his extensive background in advertising, design and art direction has launched him to the forefronts of the photography game.

So why dabble in photography after 7 years in advertising? Michael explained,  “I took courses while at Miami Ad School getting my graduate degree in Art Direction and fell in love with it.“ Well, we are glad he did because his shots are none to be reckoned with.

His has shot multiple swimwear and lingerie collections, ad campaigns and beautiful panoramas of the city itself. Even though he claims no particular ‘style’ there is a touch of class in all his work.

“I prefer to move, color and create as freely as my next idea.”

Keeping photography an art form is one thing Michael is not forgetting, when we asked him if there was anything he was addicted to he simply answered, “Beauty’ and he does an amazing job capturing it.

“I’m working on more panoramas of Miami that will be for sale. And I’m collaborating with an artist and friend, Ancel Lopez, on a series of Venus style portraits, which will be a combination of photography and paint.”

 

His goal is the open his own agency, a production house that would act as a one-stop shop for projects in the industry. “We come up with the ideas and then go shoot them.”

With what Michael has done so far and with his experience and talent, this doesn’t seem to far off in the future. Until then Michael resides in South Florida with his wife and three -year old son and  will continue to add his unique touch to Miami’s photography world.
