The fashion world has been playing an intense game of musical chairs lately and British Vogue doesn’t want to be left out! Two of the glossy’s top editors have jumped ship within days of one another.
Fashion director, Kate Phelan, announced Thursday that she would be leaving her position with British Vogue after 18 years! Phelan is making the jump from editorial to retail, as she’s just signed on to be TopShop’s creative director. Kate has worked with TopShop in the past, styling the brand’s campaigns and is excited about her new position. She states, “I am thrilled to be joining the Topshop team as Creative Director. Topshop is the most influential, dynamic fashion brand on the high street, a pioneer in both store experience and designer collaborations. I look forward to contributing to Topshop’s next chapter.”
Robin Derrick, the magazine’s creative director is also moving on after an impressive 17 years with British Vogue. He made his official announcement via Twitter saying “After 17 years I have decided to leave Vogue. Times of change and time for a change. New projects beckon….Exciting things ahead.” No word yet what his new projects will be.
