Alex White, fashion and style director of W Magazine, has officially resigned from her position after 16 years! Rumors have been spreading that the separation with the magazine was messy due to bad blood between White and W’s editor-in-chief, Stefano Tonchi. Alex White was accused of being bitter after she was overlooked as editor in chief last year. However, Stefano Tonchi insists the split was mutual and peaceful.
According to WWD, White states, “Totally on the same page. I helped with getting over the hump. Now it’s time for me to continue my freelance and explore the other things I’m working on.”
White Alex moves onto personal projects (like a rumored online magazine), Edward Enninful has stepped up to replace her as W’s new fashion and style director and the man knows what he’s doing! Edward got his start as i-D magazine’s fashion and style director when he was only 18 years old. He has also been a stylist for Italian and US Vogue for over 10 years.
We wish Alex White all the best on her new ventures and are looking forward to what Edward Enninful will bring to the mag!
